About Mean Green Hand Cleaners

MEAN GREEN is a 50+ year old company with manufacturing plants in Dallas, Texas and Vancouver, BC, Canada.  It is part of Phoenix Industries, Inc.  Mean Green manufactures and offers a complete line of hand cleaners and degreasers for industry, office, and home.  It's flagship product, Mean Green Power Hand Scrub, uses micro-sized polyethylene plastic granules as "scrubbers" to enhance the cleaning action of the product.

What are the Mean Green scrubbers, and why are they so good?

If you look at skin in a microscope, you will see that it is not flat and smooth, but has crevices and pores that can trap and hold the dirty stuff that your hands come in contact with.  Scrubbers are tiny plastic pieces sized just right to work the cleaners in Mean Green into those surfaces, and they make Mean Green a very effective hand cleaner.

Plastic is softer and kinder to the hands than other scrubbing options such as ground pumice.  Pumice fragments vary more in size and have sharp edges that damage skin with  micro-abrasions, causing hands to feel rougher and look older.

Tiny Plastic Pieces?  I Want Organic!

The plastic scrubbers are still the most effective scrubber option that Mean Green has found, but for the customers who want a completely organic hand cleaner, Mean Green developed ORGANIC Hand Scrub.  It uses granulated corn cobs as the scrubber component.
